We will delve into the challenges facing agriculture and explore how leading regional startups are addressing these issues. Through case studies of companies such as Tokuiten, which is leveraging AI and robotics for sustainable agriculture, and GRA&GREEN, which is developing low-impact, high-efficiency seeds through genome editing, we will examine the hurdles and challenges these companies face. Additionally, we will discuss potential support measures and collaborative opportunities to further their endeavors.

He graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Institute of Technology (KOSEN) ,Gifu College. Achieved a runner-up position in the NHK High School Robot Contest during his studies. After graduation, he became independent and engaged in web system development. In 2011, he established Misoca Inc. and developed the cloud-based billing management service "Misoca," which has grown to serve over 200,000 businesses. Subsequently, he sold the company and stepped down as representative director. He completed the Agricultural Entrepreneur Development Training Program at Okazaki Agricultural College in 2020. Determined to dedicate the rest of his life to addressing truly pressing issues, he co-founded Tokuiten Inc. in August 2021 and assumed the position of representative director.

A native of Gifu Prefecture, he's dedicated his career to agricultural innovation. After studying at an agricultural high school and earning a PhD from Kyoto University, he joined a Nagoya University research project in 2016. This led to the founding of Grand Green in 2017, where he serves as CEO. We've successfully applied genome editing to over 10 crops, including tomatoes and rice, and are set to launch a high-sugar tomato in 2025.

Born in China, he came to Japan in 2016 to pursue a PhD in Economics at Nagoya University. During his studies, he focused on the relationship between entrepreneurship, venture capital, and the broader economy. He was selected for a prestigious government-funded program and had the opportunity to study startup ecosystems around the world. After completing his PhD in 2022, he joined Toyo Audit Corporation as a consultant for listed companies. Subsequently, he moved to Tokai Tokyo Securities, where he now focuses on IPOs and startup support in the Chubu and Kansai regions. He also serves on the Startup Support Strategy Division at Tokai Tokyo Financial Holdings.
