After earning his PhD in Information Science and Technology from the University of Tokyo in 2010, he joined the Keio University Graduate School of Media Design (KMD). He leads the KMD Embodied Media Project, conducting research and social deployment of embodied media that transfer, augment, and create human experiences through digital technologies. His expertise spans haptics, embodied interaction, virtual reality, and telexistence. He also promotes activities in haptic design and superhuman sports, and serves as Project Manager of the Moonshot R&D “Project Cybernetic being”. Since 2026, he has served as Dean of KMD.
