Japan E-Cart is a mobility startup that designs and develops “TOKKO,” a license-free, mid-speed four-wheeled micro-mobility vehicle that can also travel on sidewalks. Our founder, a home-visit physician, saw firsthand how older adults who lose their means of transportation stop going out and rapidly decline both physically and cognitively. Guided by our mission, “Make going out a prescription for health and dignity,” we provide a safe way for older adults with mobility concerns to keep going out on their own terms, and we are developing monitoring and preventive healthcare services that use driving data. Our vision is a Japan where everyone can keep going out until the very end of life.
