With the world's largest car sales company, Toyota Motor Corporation, and more patents than Detroit.In such a huge global economy, why is the value of the startup ecosystem so low compared to others.Startup Genome, which assesses cities around the world and offers sound advice, will report the results of its assessment of the Central Japan.Together with a variety of panelists, we will discuss how to build a “world-class ecosystem.

After joining the Nagoya City government in 1998, I worked on industrial development in the Economic Affairs Bureau following my duty at Nagoya City University.I managed incubation facilities and engaged in university-industry collaboration office work. Starting with “Robo Cup 2017 Nagoya Japan”, I supported robotics and AI-related projects in the area of verification tests for advanced technologies.In 2018, I proposed the "Nagoya Innovation Strategy" to advance the establishment of "NAGOYA INNOVATOR'S GARAGE" and "NAGONO CAMPUS".I am managing a couple of startup projects as the first director of the startup support division, while also working as a member of the staff office at the Central Japan Startup Ecosystem Consortium.

Inspired by Star Wars as a child, Takeshi Hakamada set out to pursue a life focused on space exploration. He went on to earn a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech, where he was involved in the conceptual design of next-generation aerospace systems. Starting in 2010, while working for a management consulting firm, he worked part-time to lead the Japanese team, HAKUTO, one of the finalists for the Google Lunar XPRIZE competition, and changed the team’s management to ispace, inc. As Founder & CEO of ispace, Takeshi has raised record fundraising for the company and is now leading a multinational commercial lunar exploration program, known as HAKUTO-R. An active proponent for the commercial space industry, Takeshi is guiding ispace to continuously challenge itself to enable humans to establish a sustainable ecosystem between the Earth and the Moon by unlocking the utilization of space resources.

BA in Economics and Ph.D, University of Tokyo. MA in Political Economy, Columbia Univesity. Dedicated in Inovation pollicy and Trade policy at Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan. While styding in Columbia Univesity, met Data Science and obtained Ph.D in Matsuo Lab thereafter. Supporting "contribution to the society by a technical innovation" has been always the mission in METI and inorder to realize it, founded bestat Inc in 2018.

Serial entrepreneur. He is the Head of Japan for both Startup Genome and the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN). He is a professor at Sophia University and is working to revitalize Japanese society through the introduction of innovation management to existing companies and the development of a startup ecosystem. He is the only Japanese person to have been consistently involved in the formulation of the international standards for innovation management, ISO 56002/56001, for 10 years. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Sophia University and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University (MBA).

Hiromi Okuda received her Master degree in Social Welfare from the graduate school of University of Bombay (currently renamed as University of Mumbai). She started a conference business in 1991 that specializes in IT, and supports bringing a number of IT private events into Japan. Ms. Okuda established Wiz. Group, Inc. in 2001, and provides assistance for a large number of IT companies to hold conferences in Japan. Since 2008, she began support for start-ups development, and engages in ecosystem building of start-ups in order to form start-up communities in local areas both inside and outside of Tokyo. In 2013, Ms. Okuda began Takaranoyama Inc. in an underpopulated area, to research what IT can do to solve social problems in the region. Social issues are hardest to see from the actual site of development, and she is trying to connect these issues with the development of IT products.
