Born in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture. Graduated fromTokyo Woman's Christian University, Faculty of Letters, Arts and Sciences, Department of English and American Literature.In 1991, she joined POLA Cosmetics Honpo Co.While raising her children, she became Area Manager in Saitama in her 30s. 2009: General Manager of Product Planning Department. 2012: Executive Officer, 2014: Director. Experienced the value chain, including product planning, marketing, and sales, and served as the company's president and representative director from 2020 to 2024. She had been leading Purpose Management and Diversity Management with the mission of realizing rebranding and creating a society where everyone can open up their own potential.She has been a member of the board of directors of Dialogue Japan Society since 2021. She supports the management of the Dialogue Forest Museum, which operates Dialogue in the Dark and other programs.

After earning his Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from the University of Tokyo, Masaru joined the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2011, where he was responsible for policies related to university-launched startups. He later conducted research on the innovation ecosystem at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the U.S. Upon returning to Japan, he worked in venture capital and other fields before joining CIC in 2020 as a founding member. In 2022, Masaru co-founded the Startup Ecosystem Association Japan to foster the country's innovation landscape. He currently serves as the Director of CIC Institute, leading a team dedicated to building innovation ecosystems and supporting the growth of startups. He is also a specially appointed professor at the Institute of Science Tokyo.

Her published work spans a range of media, focusing on women's work styles and healthcare.
