After completing his master’s degree at Keio University, he moved to the United States. At the MIT Media Lab, he conducted research on human physical performance and the development of transtibial prostheses, earning his Ph.D. in 2012. He is currently a Senior Researcher at Sony Computer Science Laboratories, Inc. In 2014, he founded Xiborg Inc., where he serves as CEO and leads the development of sports prostheses. He also serves as Representative Director of the NPO Gisoku no Toshokan (Prosthesis Library), promoting the widespread adoption and social implementation of sports prostheses.
