After performing over 1,500 ophthalmic surgeries, he joined Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in 2016, working on healthcare startup policy.
In 2017 he co-founded Aillis, Inc., where he serves as Executive Vice President and CSO, and led “nodoca” — Japan’s first AI-based medical device to obtain regulatory approval and national insurance reimbursement.
He advocates “Katsuyaku-jumyo,” a measure beyond life expectancy and healthy life expectancy.
