Miho Tagawa is a Professor at the Institute of Materials and Systems for Sustainability (IMaSS), Nagoya University. She graduated from the Department of Applied Physics at Waseda University in 1999 and completed her master’s degree at its Graduate School of Science and Engineering in 2001. After working in industry, she earned her Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 2007. She held positions as a JST PRESTO researcher and a visiting researcher at Brookhaven National Laboratory before joining Nagoya University as an Associate Professor in 2012. She has held her current position since 2023.
Her research focuses on the crystal growth, structural analysis, and physical properties of nanomaterials formed through self-assembly guided by DNA molecular recognition. Combining computational and experimental approaches, she seeks to precisely control nanoparticle arrangements and structures to develop novel optical materials and highly sensitive sensors.
