We have developed an accelerator-based neutron source capable of generating high-quality neutron beams for Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT), as well as a boron agent that exhibits a higher degree of accumulation in tumor cells compared to conventional agents. We are currently conducting non-clinical studies to realize “ex vivo” BNCT—a method designed to eliminate cancer cells from the graft bag during autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, a treatment for blood cancers. Simultaneously, we are carrying out non-clinical studies to explore the use of this boron agent for treating deep-seated cancers, such as liver and pancreatic cancers—conditions that have historically been difficult to address with conventional BNCT.
