My name is Haruma Metsugi, and I am a fifth-year Electrical and Electronic Systems Engineering student at Toyota National College of Technology. I lead Kanro AI, a student team developing Pipe Eye, a robotic system for sewer pipe inspection.
We are working to automate and streamline inspections using robotics and real-time image AI, addressing the challenges of aging sewer infrastructure.
Our team won the Grand Prize at DCON 2026, and we are currently collaborating with local governments and companies on field testing and commercialization. My goal is to bring technology into real-world use and help build a society where everyone can live safely and confidently.
